Topic: The Effects of Endocrine Therapy, Jan McMullen, Clinical Nurse Specialist 

Jan’s presentation will focus on the most common side effects experienced by women receiving endocrine therapy, why endocrine therapy is prescribed, the importance of taking the medication and why women are so symptomatic. Jan will explore the ways that we can support women on this treatment and what support is currently available in Aotearoa NZ.

Presenter:

Jan is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the breast tumour stream at Auckland City Hospital, the largest oncology centre in New Zealand. She has worked in oncology at Auckland City Hospital for over 30 years. Starting her CNS role in oncology in 2008. Her interest areas are breast cancer, menopause symptoms, survivorship and patient centred care. In 2014 Jan established an endocrine phone clinic. Jan has also contributed to the National Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand endocrine support programme for NZ, called myHT, which launched recently.
