Justin graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2003. He has held a number of health social work roles during that time and has interests in haematology, early intervention for people with cancer, and palliative care.

He has worked as an Oncology Social Worker at Capital and Coast District Health Board in Wellington since 2011 and is currently the advanced practitioner in the Cancer Support Team.
